Anxiety took over my life again
Ive started taking meds again because of this world crisis right now, I suffer from depression and anxiety. In my country the restrictions are very serious, were in obligatory quarentine and I cant even go take a walk on the park, because police officers take you to jail. Being locked down in my house is making me feel desperate and crazy. I dont know if meds can really help me.
@Sofacries
I'm sorry that you're in this terrifying situation right now. You are very strong for making it through this.
It's good that you decided to take medication for your mental conditions in a time like this. I think it was very much the right choice. I hope it will help you soon.
Should it not help as much as you'd hope, then please keep reaching out online or to friends and family in ways this crisis still allows.
For the feeling of going crazy I would recommend soothing activites such as music, arts and crafts, drawing or coloring. Also limit your news intake to once or twice a day, even if it is hard to look away. Open your windows regularly and if you have a garden or balcony, go at least a few steps outside into the sun every day. Small things like that really help.
You are very welcome to join us in the covid-19 support room and to participate in the daily group sessions, such as the sharing circles at 12pm & 8pm EST and the member introductions at 11am & 7pm EST.
Thank you for sharing your feeling in this frightening situation 💛💛 I hope you will keep us updated.
@Soe22
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really needed to share my feelings about this. Im trying to wake up early everyday to keep me busy. Youre right, Ill try to avoid news, they just dont help anxious people. And Ill for sure join the covid community.
Thank you so much for listening. Please, you too take care.
@Sofacries yeah this qurintine is really bad, but the things i do is get away from tv and my computer cause it makes it worse. call someone on the phone. that helps alot to. open a window so you can feel a breeze. do something calming like drawing, kniting, or couloring. when i do those things, it helps me alot. i reallyhope this helps and things i going to get better i promase. you are not alone.

Thanks for replying. Today the sun is out and bright, so Ill try to enjoy it while it lasts. And yes, I think that even my cellphone is becoming toxic, I find no joy in it. Another thing is that both my parents are doctors, so theyre constantly talking about the situation in our country and region. And while I try to avoid them, it gets to me. My sister is currently working in a health center, so she tries to quarantine herself for the sake of the family and everyday is stressful.
But yeah, I just hope things get better soon. And thank you for your support, be safe.
@Sofacries no problem, i hope any of those ideas helped. you can also probebly serch up on youtube relaxing things to do.
@happydays447
Youre right, that might relax me. :)
Hi Sofacries,
I'm Mercy. 🌹 It's a pleasure to meet you.
I am so sorry that this quarantine has had such an effect to your mental health. I am in quarantine myself and it does really make me feel lonely. I struggle with OCD and anxiety symptoms, and when I go to school and see all my supportive friends, it kind of suppressed that harsh inner voice. So I get it.
This is hard, but I'm here for you.
There are many ways I personally cope with it. One way is to make some time to cultivate what I love to do or what I am good at. Doing something that is a passion can really help me, and it is useful for others too. Another important thing is to keep contact with your friends. Phone, video call, text, it is important that you have some social and emotional support this time (for all of us). Sometimes it helps to do something empowering or comforting like listening to an upbeat song or repeating encouraging things to yourself. And lastly taking care of physical health will go a long way. Drink enough water, exercise, get enough sleep, try to do something you enjoy every day.
if you need any emotional support, I am more than happy to welcome you in my PMs.
I believe in you. 🌹
It is a hard situation, I get it that you take meds again. I hope you can have someone next to you who can help you be more at peace. I wish you the best, just try your best every day maybe it is all we can do... :)
