Anxiety way up

I was curious to see how bad my anxiety is because I'm having physical symptoms that are painful. So I took a reputable on line test and scored 74 out of 100. My therapist is really supportive and knows my full story and knows I need meds but my Dr doesn't want me to stay on the anti anxiety meds I'm on. I understand her concerns but ugh my anxiety is crippling. I hate depending on meds to manage my condition, I would like to be med free but I don't see it happening. My trauma list is long and multiple types. This is such a difficult place to be stuck.

I can relate to crippling anxiety. I too take meds to help my anxiety. The meds really help me with getting rid of that low to mid level general anxiety that I just felt on the daily. I don’t know what I’d do without the relief the meds give me. I wonder if you should maybe get the opinion of another MD? Just a thought.

@beccalee2074

I've tried to avoid meds as much as possible, but still have to take something occasionally. I just started listening to Affirmations by Jason Stephenson on youtube. Early to tell, but it might be helping.

@amiableBlackberry92

I started experiencing anxiety and panic attacks 6 months ago. It's horrible. I had a therapist that was very kind and thoughtful, but he is moving out of state. I think I'll try a CBT therapist next.

Could you share the info about the online anxiety test? I would like to see how it evaluates my anxiety.

I've been surprised to see how many people struggle with anxiety, but most everyone is very, very supportive.
