Anxiety with agoraphobia
Hello everyone, I have been dealing with anxiety with agoraphobia for 3 years now. Anyone have any tips on how to cope with this monster?

It must be hard that agoraphobia brings you anxiety for 3 years. For anxiety, try to stop automatic thoughts. These involve challenging thinking, identifying types of anxious thoughts, and form alternative thoughts. But this is just some general overviews. The doctor will be the best person to diagnose decide what kind of treatment fits best you.
Hello. I'm sorry to hear you have had to struggle with anxiety and agoraphobia for years. I know how hard it can be. I'd recommend finding a good therapist who has experience facilitating a cognitive behavioral therapy treatment of you haven't tried that already. So for example I had developed a lot of anxiety about exercising. I used to exercise a lot growing up but then I began having panic attacks and stopped doing lots of activities over the course of about 10 years. So anyway. It's okay. I found a good therapist and within a few CBT sessions I was doing jumping jacks and then weight lifting 3x a week and biking on the weekends. It feels great. Even had a panic attack during a ride and was able to resolve it and kept on biking. I'm still working through my problems but I'm making progress. It's hard but it's worth it. Some other advice, when facing anxiety, try to embrace it as a helpful problem solving mode that the body has. Try to remove judgements positive or negative from your observation of your anxiety. There's physical symptoms, but objectively they are likely very mild. There's a negative feeling but try not to judge the feeling. It's just trying to label this situation. Basically just go into observer mode and watch yourself for a bit. Also try and think about what it causing you anxiety, why does it frighten you? Should it? It's very easy to think about something and neglect a very key detail that makes the neglected thought unrealistic. Like consider a car, maybe I am unreasonably scared of cars. But after thinking carefully I realize I always imagine cars without breaks, and a car without breaks is not a very realistic conception of a car. I say ahha! There was my mental error! I then think to remember car breaks whenever I start being anxious about cars, and I start facing the fear of cars once I've corrected as many misconceptions as I can find. Okay, kind of a long post and there's a lot more I could say but I hope for now you can find something in here helpful for you. I hope you conquer your anxiety and agoraphobia, and wish you much happiness ahead.
