Anxious at night

I had covid the start of January and since then have not been well, haven’t gone back to work and still waiting to see if there’s anything the doctors can do for me, but since having covid my anxiety has gotten quite bad. At night time I can’t get to sleep because my brain convinces me someone is going to break in and I’m in danger. I sound crazy I know, but any help with how to calm down and sleep would be helpful.

Oh wow, you got covid? :-o You're a survivor, poor thing! You must also be really strong to be able to tough it out up to this point. My friends also got covid and they were stuck in bed for a month! They're much better now and finally fully recovered :) You'll get better too, trust me. Just get lots of rest and make yourself some soup.

Just wondering, do you have enough space on your phone to download an app? There's an app called Loona. I haven't tried it yet but it's supposed to help you sleep by giving you scenes to color. Some stuff in the app is free and some stuff you have to pay extra for. I saw a demonstration of it on YouTube and it looked pretty relaxing.

I also really like this YouTube channel with positive affirmations. This link is for calming anxiety while you sleep: https://youtu.be/2t_QEHzuGpk

This link is for a shorter meditation video specifically for covid anxiety, by the same channel. I think it's really good: https://youtu.be/KL5cEz2uy2I This link is for a short video for general anxiety, also by the same channel. I really like it too: https://youtu.be/6FXmDwFRIMo

You definitely don’t sound crazy! COVID is a horrible thing so its very understandable that you are feeling anxious after having it, when you are worrying about someone breaking in maybe try and reassure yourself you are safe and nothing bad is going to happen 💛

@peachVillage7698 I would let your doctor know.

COVID19 is very new,not sure if that could be the cause of your sleep issues or not.

If it was me, I would talk to the doctor, and tell him everything.

I am not a medical doctor.

I am a trained active listener.

As for any help, with sleeping you could try some of 7Cups Meditation recordings,to see if that helps.

I hope this helps you.

But please see your Health Care Provider,or call them,if you cannot go in person, yet, do to COVID-19 restrictions.

Hey, I just wanted to say Thankyou for all the nice comments. I have been trying to sleep with my earphones in which has been strangely helping. I will definitely be glad when I feel better and can get some normality back. Honestly reading your comments helps a lot as it makes me feel less alone and like I can just get it off my chest if I need to. Thankyou so much! Sending love you to all! ❤️

I had covid in January too and have been way more anxious and found it harder to sleep since, however I did already have some issues with these things before. I’m trying to figure things out myself still but I think it would be good to know that you aren’t alone. I did read that covid causes anxiety in about 20% of patients. Regardless of the cause, you can get through this!!
