Crippling stress

If anyone feels like talking I could definitely use someone to talk to. I can usually manage my anxiety and depression but with all the stress going on in my life, it’s seeming impossible. I’ve been working two jobs since November. One of them I just started a month ago. I’m also moving in four days. Working myself too much. I just came off working 21 days in a row and I think it threw me over the edge. I just can’t get my mind and body relaxed now. I’ve been waking up from bad dreams almost nightly. I’m constantly tired and have no energy. I also don’t have many friends and no family to talk too. I just hate being this vulnerable so it’s hard to talk to the one or two friends that I do have. I just want to cry all the time and feel so alone. My mom passed away from cancer almost 4 years go on her birthday was yesterday so that’s weighing on me. I just need someone to talk too🥺

@missaries

Hi. First, I just want to send a hug to you. I'm sorry it can't be a real one because you need it.

It's interesting to me that you're working and working and working and then you're going to be moving and everything is going on and you're just overwhelmed, stressed and burned out. I say it's interesting because I know how you're feeling. I have been working all day. For about 14 hours now, and I just decided I'd had enough. I'm burned out doing everything and everyone else just enjoys doing whatever they want. And I just wanted to cry today because it's all too much.

So, I guess what I'm saying is I understand what you're feeling because I do feel it, too. Maybe not in the exact same way, but I get it. It's exhausting. And it's hard to find some amount of joy in the day because...well, because.

But I try. And you should try, too. It's SO important to take just a couple of minutes to do something just for you. Even if that something is grabbing a quiet corner and having a good cry. For me, I ate a huge candy bar today. :) Okay, that's not really great for my health, but it was good for my mental well-being. And what made it better is that it was a candy bar I hid from my husband and son. It was ALL MINE and I wasn't sharing. LOL

Is there anything you can do to gift yourself a little love? What would your mom tell you you should do for yourself?

Hi @thoughtfulmomma Thank you so much for your reply. How much longer do you have on shift? I’m sorry to hear it’s been a long day for you too. I am now off work and finally able to try to relax for a little bit. Work was rough for me today. Im glad that candy bar helped!! I did have to run some errands today after work so I don’t have much time to treat myself. I’m now in bed and just can’t get up too tired. Was thinking about going to get my nails done to treat myself but letting myself relax seems like more of a treat at the moment. So I think I’ll get my nails done here in the next couple days when I have time. I really appreciate your reply. Was very touching. I never thought of it that way thinking to myself what my mom would want me to do to take care of myself. I’m going to have to ponder on that one for a bit

Being a mom and working from home means my shift never ends. :) Definitely go get your nails done! I haven't had a manicure in years - they always felt so nice and made me feel so pampered. I'm getting my hair done this weekend and I'm just going to love someone taking care of me for a little while.
