Defeated

I wanted to know if anyone can relate to this feeling. Even though I’ve recently got one of my dream jobs, volunteering for a good cause and working towards my future, and feeling better mentally…I still have the weight of the world on my shoulders. I’m stressing about everything no matter how big or small. I’m constantly working towards things without realising that where I am today, is where I dreamed I would be 2 years ago. But I can’t appreciate it at the moment. I feel drained and constantly fighting a battle with my thoughts. I know this is anxiety but I thought this would decrease after getting everything I could want. Am I the only one who feels defeated? 🙁

@xochloexo

I think one of the hardest things to do when dealing with anxiety is to just learn to appreciate the moment - the here and now. I have been working on meditation as a means to be more "now" focused, because I am also carrying everything on my shoulders - even when things are good, I'm already looking ahead to the "what ifs" and then I start panicking and it spirals from there.

Meditation and mindfulness helps. Certain people in my life help. Others make it worse. :) I also think sometimes, personally, I take on too many things (but I also feel I don't have any help) and that causes the anxiety to flare up. Anxiety takes time to control - I don't think we ever get rid of it, but I do think we can control it.
