Does anyone have this fear that the world is ending?
I'm talking about everything that's going on with the hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes. I'm also religious and everyone else I know that's religious believes that these are all signs that Jesus is coming back and we're all gonna die. And I mean if it's my time, that's fine I guess. The only thing is I'm scared of what's gonna happen after I die or what's gonna happen to the people I love if it is actually happening. I hate that I'm so anxious about this because it's been on my mind non stop and it makes me feel like I'm going crazy.

Hi Placid,
I am actually in the same boat as you. Though recently I have been processing through a breakup that had no resolve so I am currently expereiencing loss. But yes, it is strange these events are occuring. Though if we believe in the Christ, there is a peace knowing that He is in control. I know in word does say be prepared for when Jesus comes. No one knows when that time is. I am glad that I am not the only one noticing this too. Are there other things you notice?

@371eiuol I'm so sorry about your breakup, I hope you can recover soon. And yes, people were also saying the solar eclipse was a sign as well. I know I should be prepared and everything and I think I am but it's still scary to think about it because my boyfriend is not Christian so that worries me a little bit. Also what about my non religious friends?

Hey placid,
I actually have a sense of fear that the world is ending, but I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just focus on your life at hand and leave it to the professionals to worry about the world ending. It's your job to just worry about yourself and help take care of the world the best you can. :)
Hi @placidSail4000. I agree that there are a lot of frightening things going on the world like the things you have mentioned. They concern me too. They are, however, things we cannot control and therefore we need to try to make the best of a bad situation. One has also got to bear in mind that the bible is not something to be taken literally and it is open to interpretation. The priest at my own church has said that himself. I would not worry about what will happen to friends and relations after they die. Things will be fine. See the good in people regardless of whether they are religious or not. Be good to people and help them in any way you can. Even if it's little things like helping an old lady across the road, or taking someone who is imobile on a shopping trip or a day out. Maybe do a voluntary job. I can tell you from experience that when you help those less fortunate than yourself, not only have you done a good turn it will make you feel good. These things I believe will go a long way towards allieviating your anxieties. The most important thing is, be good to yourself.
