I get this too. I get also depersonalisation where I feel like I'm not real or something and derealisation where things seem fake. Sometimes I feel like my own room is unfamiliar and I'm trespassing in someone else's house. It comes and goes

I find that when I reduce my anxiety i start to feel better but it isnt something that goes away fast it lags a bit after my anxiety is gone and it also helps to do things that take you from being inside your mind as much and instead are focused on the outside world. I get it kinda often but I'm usually not afraid by the feeling but sometimes if it gets more stronger lol@ASnide

@ASnide Ah those were some interesting days....I used to spiral into these endless tunnels of what ifs and it would drain my whole day out of me. I still have some days I do it, but much less now.

What works for me might not work for you because I do not know exactly what your thoughts are about, however for me it helped to meditate and find a hobby where my thoughts would be mitigated. Meditation is something I wish I did more because it does help quiet the mind down, even though it's not easy. For my hobbies, I like to create music or sing off-key for my own enjoyment.

It also helps to not take life too seriously and have perspective...and I say this but I am also learning all of this too. All the best and this overthinking shows you probably also have a vivid imagination so it's a double edged sword in a way

@ASnide

It happens A LOT. Unfortunately. I just went down the "what if" freakout hole yesterday evening and I'm still struggling to get out of it.

It's difficult. I do meditate and practice mindfulness. I pray. I distract myself with small projects. It takes a lot of practice to just be in the current moment and not be always thinking about all the bad "what ifs" that "could, maybe, might" happen.
