Hi, I have an emotionally abusive and volatile mother and an emotionally unavailable father. My mother's temper tantrums have caused me to have severe anxiety disorder with a completely manic nervous system. I am so emotionally exhausted that I don't even know what kind of help I need. I also have depression and an eating disorder. This feels never-ending. How do I become better?

Wow, I have the exact same experience. My mother would blow up over everything, saying unking things or scaring me since I was a child, not much now as I’m no adult. And my father, was around, for monetary value, as he wasn’t emotionally involved much. The only thing you can do is work on everything one by one. If you can’t fix what’s around you, work on the internal. I still have anxiety, and I also have an ED. What helped me most was moving away from my family in the first place, but if you can’t, all you can do is find other sources of support, such as friends, or here. Living with my family was insanely draining, and at some point I just stopped listening to my mom. You can’t fix your family, so just focus on making yourself as good as you can be. Don’t listen to your mother, or, self-soothe yourself. Talk to yourself as if you would a child. Nobody is perfect, and neither can you expect yourself to be. Be kind to yourself, you were put in this situation, it’s not your fault, and the people that are at fault are those that were meant to take care of you. You just have to work on your mindset, as people can say anything to us, and only we have the responsibility to ignore them, and not react to it. :) Goodluck. I’m also working on these things but I still fall back on old habits.
