Extreme anxiety of talking about myself - need help

i am in my late 20s and I am extremely shy and have a lot of social anxiety. I am scared to tell my coworkers that my brother lives in the US for fear they will google him. He did a phd in his field and he would be easily searchable. Scared they will judge me and say he is rich for example because of where he works. I am als scared of them finding it weird of why i have not shared this with them before.

Does anyone have any help? How can i stop worrying so much what people think of me? I am seeing a therapist and i am planning to go to the doctor to get medication. Its really draining living like this.

Any advice?

Hey there!
As you mentioned, you're fearing judgement from your coworkers about your brother. You fear em searching him up and looking down on you as well as asking you unwanted questions. That makes sense to me. Anxious thoughts aren't so easy to deal with. You sound like you're fearing embarrassment, are you? Even if you didn't make as many achievements as your brother, you're still worthy and enough. 💜
As a listener I can't give you advice, but you can reach out to me for emotional support. Work with your therapist and I hope you'll learn to handle your anxiety soon enough!
Best wishes. 💐
