Fear for Future of Technology
Now some people might have wake up call to this, some don't but in reality if you looked how far we came in advancing technology world where internet came in with desktop computers to Laptops, to Smart phones, everyone has smart phone, I bet you have one too. What more feared of future with it? Technology taking over our lives with AI on rise, or Smart Intelligence Smarter then Humans, or technology taking over entire planet look at films that predict future, imagine future generations will have no clue what DVD, CD, or even physical book is cause everything is over technology, It is something to worry about & hour habits with streaming online to usng internet for shopping or social media or whatever site your on leading to Digital age that future generations want to try look back at what we had many years ago before Internet, they will have no clue.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and by the 80s I was in college. I had absolutely nothing that people have today. I have a small 13 inch tv in my bedroom and there was a radio in the kitchen, that was it. We went outside 'to play' which meant jump rope, racing, playing tag, hide and go seek, etc.
I am now in my 50s and I marvel at how I saw a 5 year old with a smartphone the other week fiddling with it to find her cartoons to watch.
There will be no more books in the future and the world of the 70s where I spent ages 9-18 will seem like the dinosaur era, it probably feels that way already to a 17 year old.
I have very little by way of technology. I have a tv, a multi region dvd player, a small boombox in my bedroom, a cordless phone, a few pedometers, a camera, and that is that. I do not have a cell phone, let alone a smartphone, I would not know how to text if it bit me in the ass. I have a basic Kindle that I do not use and is stuck in a draw. I have a Nintendo which was a present for my birthday 5 years ago. I have a laptop that is not top of the line and with those things, my cds, books and dvds, I manage to fill my time without a selfie in sight
I feel worried.
I mean, as someone who had no success making/keeping friends growing up in school, (and someome who has parents that dont let me really leave the house even though I'm an adult with a driver's license). I'm glad to have a device that allows me to have human contact despite that. Say what negative things you will, be nostalgic all you want, but I'm thankful for the technology.
Not only is technology becoming smarter, but people are becoming dumber because of their dependance and loss of eagerness to learn and develop having everything at their fingertips. There is definitely a lot to worry for(the environment, our personal lives, our individualism, our social lives, our health, etc). People are definitely aware of the problem, but very few are aware that they are a part of it. The world could only run under one regime. Capitalism. Unfortunately, these new technologies mean huge business and where there is business, there is advertising. People are encouraged to pollute, to seperate themselves from society and to be completely ignorant. The world may be advancing in one perspective, but it is definitely deteriorating in another, I agree with you on that! The best we can do, is to realize what our actions are and take care of ourselves.
Technology is just ... technology.
We've been around it all our lives. When folks in America started seeing horseless carriages arriving, they probably had multiple feelings about that technology from "how ridiculous" to "amazing" to "will I be out of a job" to "is there an opportunity there for me"
Its part of human nature to be curious and experiment and taking some risks.
I've been in technology all my life (and I'm a product of the 60s, so there's that). Sure, just like any technology there can be fears and misunderstandings. In the hands of devious people, it can cause new types of harm and misery. For so-called good people, it can be extremely helpful.
If you're "up for the challenge", then feel free to post your fears about technology. Which technologies and how does it affect you now or in the future. I'd like to read and try to respond.
I absolutely understand where you're coming from. It can be really intimidating to think about new technology and how it might change our lives and even the world. You bring up some interesting points too, like human reliance on technology and the possibility for AI to take over. I've thought about all of these questions myself. And I think that part of the dread is not just the technology itself, but the fact that it seems to be advancing so rapidly that no one can truly keep up or even understand where we're headed. Who knows what life will be like 20 or 50 years from now? It's crazy to think about. But technology can be great too. We wouldn't have 7 Cups if we didn’t have the internet!
I totally get the concern — sometimes I catch myself wondering if future generations will even know what offline feels like. Everything’s on a screen now, even business interactions. I’ve been working in field sales, and honestly, shifting to using a digital business card has been one of the few tech upgrades that didn’t feel invasive.
