Festivals and Bad Anxiety

Hey dear people,

I'm going to a music festival and I'm very unstable right now. I had a lot of stress before that, I had to take care of my mum and when I have to much responsibilities, my anxiety and panic attack hits. With planning for the festival and overthinking everything plus the stress with my mum, I'm literally losing my mind. I know if I survive this festival I can do anything. It is very hard and challenging. Anyone any Tipps how I can survive this festival without being anxious 24/7? I also I have real fear of losing control. I don't know if I have epilepsy or if it's just to much for my brain to cope but I hate flickering lights and they give me anxiety and make me feel unreal. So I'm very worried that something might happen and that I spent a lot of money for the worst weekend of my life. I kinda need support. Thanks for literally ANYONE who is helping me. I love u all u great xx

hey there! Im an anxious traveler and went to my first 5 day festival last year, I struggle with being in big crowds and worry Ill panic!

I think it would be an idea to think about all the things your looking forward to, like bands your excited to see and being away from home stress for a little bit. Something that really helped me was preparing for things that might make you anxious... worried you wont sleep? Get a bunch of different earplugs and try them out before you go :) sunglasses worked a treat at night when the lights felt like they were a bit too much! Festivals also tend to have medical and welfare Centres you can pop into to just have a chat.

It might put your mind at ease having things on hand you know will calm you down, a cosy tent and some good headphones, even taking earplugs to the bigger stages to take the edge off the noise.

Best of luck with your festival! Youll have an amazing time x
