hello everyone

I suffer with social anxiety and it has recently got worse. When I walk back from work at 8pm I get incredibly anxious that something will happen to me because it's late.

i also have my 4th driving test in 2 weeks and already I am so nervous and anxious. I failed the last 3 times because I was anxious and my nerves got the better of me.

can anyone help please, I really want to pass my test this time

@goodNickel6139 I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling. It may be helpful for you to try to think about the thoughts that are going through your mind when you think about the driving test and look at how accurate or truthful those thoughts are. Also, doing things for yourself that will help keep you relaxed and calm in the days leading up, whether it is going for a walk, reading a book, exercise, a hot shower, etc. Let me know if you want some more tips and good luck!

@goodNickel6139 It sounds like you're going through a lot right now and the test coming up is increasing your anxiety and stressing you out even more. Do something nice for yourself and try to understand what your underlying fears are.

Also feel free to reach out to a trained listener here when you're feeling anxious or if you just need to talk. The mindfulness exercises on this site may also be helpful and soothing. If you like them, they may even help center your mind and focus on staying calm before your test.

Good luck!!

Hello t.i.a, I'm sorry you're experiencing problems related to your social anxiety and you feel that it's getting worse =/. Do you feel that your concerns when you walk home late at 8 PM from work are valid concerns or that you are just worrying yourself with fears from your mind?

I'm sorry you failed your previous drivers tests 3 times from anxiety/nerves. I wish you the best of luck on your coming driving test! Do you go to a therapist? Therapy has been very helpful for me with anxiety, personally. In the meantime, I would practice mindfulness, breathing techniques and checking out 7Cups's Anxiety Self-Help Guide which you can find on Path>Self-Help Guides>Anxiety!
