I am so done!
I have anxiety. I am mad at everything and I can't relax. I've been home everyday for the past 2.5 months with my infant and toddler, working a full time job, and managing everything else. Basically I'm working 3 full time jobs - daycare/mother, day job, and home/yard/bills,etc. My husband is working during the week, long hours. And when he is home, he's worthless. He doesn't pay any bills, doesn't bring the kids to the doctor, slacks off when it comes to cleaning anything, and lies about everything. He finds anyway possible to leave so he doesn't have to watch the kids. He wasn't this way when I married him - I feel duped. He's not smart by any means. There are SO many examples but here is one: I'll go over a list with him for groceries and I'll take the time to make sure he sees what we need and he'll "agree". Then he goes to the store and asks what we need. I'm so stressed out - I have no friends and my family doesn't care to check in or talk to me. They say "You've got it, you can figure it out". That basically means that they'll spend time with my brother instead. My boss is sexist and he leaves me out of everything at work. I am literally the last one to know. (I recently turned him into our HR for saying I was only hired because I was a woman.) I work with a small group of guys and so some of them treat me about the same. I clean, I cook, I take care of the house. I've asked for help, but I get nothing but lies. How do I cope? Where do I turn?
@Brooklyn8080 Your at 7Cups. 7cups has support rooms and it has trained active listeners.
You could try that.
The support rooms and the active listeners do not cost anything.
I hope this helps.
@Brooklyn8080 Have you told you husband how he is making you feel? It's not my place to tell you what to do with your life or your marriage, but if you have and he doesn't listen, don't you think it's time to do something? You seem so strong already having to do all of this by yourself. Marriage counseling maybe? Whatever you decide to do, you need to make sure you are doing what is truly best for you.
@EmBeach1643 I've really thought about counseling but I don't know what to expect from it. I'm willing to put forth any effort but I don't know how my husband will do. I sincerely appreciate the suggestion. This may be our next step to take.
@Brooklyn8080 I really am sorry about that. I hope you can manage to work it out.
I understand what you're going through in terms of not having a support system to depend on when times get hard and living with people that can't/don't help you in facing life's challanges. The advice I would give to you is one, acknowledge that you are someone worth helping, that your needs deserve to be met, and your problems and situations matter. Second, you have to come up with a plan of getting your needs met without the help of those people you can't depend on, like your husband as you mentioned. This could mean waking up even ealier to get more things done, thie could mean paying for additional services such as grocery delivery services. You'll have to get creative and the solutions don't have to be pretty but they do have to be made becasue things have to get done. Third, start making plans and moving towards removing people from your life. Life is hard and doesn't get any easier if you only have takers in your life and not givers than you don't need them. Life is about give and take and the relationships you build should be give and take to. Sometimes this means cutting everyone out and starting a support system from scratch and you may worry about being alone but consider this, you're already alone you're just surrounded by people.
Know your worth, know your value, make your plans, and move forward.
@creativeDime4212 Thank you! You're exactly right - I agree with everything you've said. I've actually done everything you've suggested before, but I was hoping at some point in life things would be better. Sometimes if you want something done you have to do it yourself. Thank you for encouraging words - I really needed that.
Bless you.
@Brooklyn8080
Thank you, I understand a bit of what you're going through so I get it. I hope things work out better for you. I'm happy you are aware of your worth and your value to have your needs met. Bless!
