I can't talk anymore

My mom and I had a huge fight. Like huge huge. It got to the point where I tried to end myself infront of her. (She also basically told me I was doing it for attention and then made like she was about to die). Anyways, my dad interfered and it was a little okay now, I guess (at least it's over). But now I can't talk. When people ask me questions I can't seem to talk or open my mouth without feeling extreme anxiety. I usually watch loud videos on my phone but I can't do that too. It's like I can't make any sounds. I can still chat or type or whatever but u can't talk. Idk what's going on.

Just stop worrying and you’ll feel so much better, I do have a very similar experience with anxiety

@quietPerson3954 if it was as easy as "just stop worrying", no one would have anxiety. It's a lot bigger than that, a lot more complicated. This puts the blame and burden on the person, that it's their fault that they're going through this, because they're choosing to worry somehow? Instead of acknowledging that this person went through a very traumatic and highly emotional experience that is now impacting their ability to communicate (and, in my opinion, their ability to let themselves exist and take space in the world). I'm sorry, but "just stop worrying" is basically the #1 thing you don't say to people with anxiety, even if it worked for you, because it just lacks so much empathy and understanding.

Hey! I am Marlee, a listener her on 7 cups. Thanks for sharing this with us. You are very strong for still being here and asking for help. So sorry to hear that your Mom is not believing you and paying attention to your mental health. You deserve better. Your emotions are valid. Take deep breaths and try to calm down a bit. I know how difficult that might be but I believe in you. You can do it. If it is not getting better you should look for professional help. What kinds of coping mechanisms do you use? Is there anyone you can ask to support you or maybe even try to talk with your Mom again?
You will get better I promise. Stay strong <3

You sound as hopeless and helpless as I felt when I was still living with my mum. She still doesn't understand but at least we can be civil now we are not under the same roof. So I feel for you. "Talk" to us, we want to hear you, even if it is in this not-actual-talking-virtual fashion 🤗
