I feel so sick... Is this Anxiety??!
Hi everyone.
Thanks for reading and being here. I've had health anxiety for ages, not diagnosed, but my repetitive obsessions and trips to the ER seem to indicate it :-| Lately I've been feeling really strange. Heart pounding at times, and at others spaced out and head spinning, even to the point of feeling nauseous Like the feeling you get when your're about to pass out if anyone knows it. I feel like I just have to go back to bed and can't function.
Now of course I want to jump to worst possible scenarios. But a part of me says, well, could this just be anxiety? It's so awful, but I don't want to go back down the path of feeding my health anxiety. I have a fairly thorough check up/ bloods done around every 6 months (usually due to my health anxiety)
@kalayani Hey :) Thanks for being part of our community and for posting this thread.
Yes, anxiety can indeed manifest itself in such ways.
There are many people who suffer from vomiting or difficulty in breathing during stressful times. I'm not saying that is the case for you as I don't know you and I am not a doctor. But if it feels like it might be caused by your anxiety, chances are it has something to do with it.
I'm sorry to hear that anxiety might cause something like this for you and I hope you'll find ways to overcome it.
I'm sure other listeners have told you about meditation and breathing exercises, right?
Feel free to message me in the future!
Have a good rest of the day <3
@kalayani It does sound like anxiety to me. I had horrible health anxiety for a long time. It still pops up occasionally, but I'm able to dismiss it pretty easily now. I get all sorts of physical problems when my anxiety is high, including nausea, headaches, dizziness, random pains, etc. Now, I would never advise against going to the doctor if you think something is wrong, but most likely it's nothing to worry about, especially if you see a doctor regularly.
