I need reassurance that everything will be alright
So it sounds like I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder.. and I excessively worry.
This is my story:
I'm currently living with my boyfriend and I had to leave my cat behind until we can get him. He doesn't like my mom and he's only met her like twice and he thinks she's manipulative. He thinks every little thing that goes wrong is her fault. His sister has told me that he's always been dramatic, exaggerates, overreacts, blows thing's out of proportion, hates confrontation and doesn't like to be wrong. What worries me and when he says if my mom knew she didn't have a hold over me anymore or I wasn't coming back to stay, she'd get rid of my cat..
Sorry didn't know how long I could make this until it ran out of room...
Anyway, I've told my mom that I'm here to stay and want this place to be better for my cat (he doesn't know cuz I don't want to hear his answer again to just freak me out).
I've talked to his sister before about my worries and gave me the perfect example to what is goin on now. Long ago my boyfriend's cousin gave him a knife and not knowing, it was his uncles knife. When he found out my boyfriend had it, he got yelled at because he thought he stole it. Now he holds a grudge, same with my mom. She has made him mad few times and now he holds a grudge it seems like. My mom has said before that he can be a drama queen..
I know my mom wouldn't do that.. she loves my cat and takes care of him. She wouldn't hurt me like thet.
I've told my mom before that I really love my cat and don't want anything bad to happen to him and she said nothing will except dying from old age.
He doesn't want to hear about any of the nice thing's that she's said or that she tries to help, he just gets mad. He said she wants you to think she's being nice to get you to come back.
I can be gullible and naive sometimes beliving in what people say too strongly (like now). He thinks my mom is manipulative like his was.. but in fact she wasn't. His sister told me she wasn't, just had other thing's wrong. Just held grudges against people too.. so maybe that's why he does it and thinks that about my mom??
They both saw their mother differently. She was close and he wasn't. They fought a lot (she was bipolar).
Bottom line is I worry excessively and my brain doesn't shut up. Idk what to do. It keeps me up at night and toes and turn
@LovableKitty None of that sounds healthy. Especially for someone with anxiety. I'm not dueif this will help you but I have found that family and relationships shouldbe kept separate. Don't let your relationship to effect your relationship with family and vise versa don't let family cause issued with your love relationship. It can be hard to do but you are in control of your life. You are within your right to put your foot down on this.
When I struggled with my cancers initially, there were grafitti everywhere, on walls, trams, busses, subway with this exact message:
"Don't worry, everythimg will be all right!"
I could not think of this as a coincidence so I took it as a sign.
