In my own head too much.
Lately I've been in my own head over some of the silliest things. I've been overreacting to things with friends and in my relationship that should be easy to drop, but for some reason I continue to tell myself that there's something wrong. That there's some unresolved issue, and in turn I end up making it into a bigger issue.
Unfortunately, in my relationship, if there is an arguement or disagreement between the two of us my partner would rather be alone as where I'd rather talk to them. It's been very difficult for me to handle this as it has never been something that went well for me in past relationships. So instead of just letting them do their own thing I start to panic, get myself all worked up and then can't get out of my own head.
I'm worried that I'm just sabotaging my relationship at this point and I don't really know what I can do for self care. I try to distract myself, but I still end up feeling not great. How do you guys cope when you're on your own...? I could honestly use some ideas.
@mysticael I relate to being stuck in my head a lot, but it seems that you feel like you overthinking is causing strain in your relationships. The other in your realtionship likes to deal with diffiuculties alone, while you would rather voice it out, which is perhaps the reason you overthink. I do not know your problems or the exact situation, however it's hard to just get rid of thoughts or feelings. There is power in accepting that this is where you are and that it's okay. I have been there where I overthink and can't seem to calm down and that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with me. Be pateint with yourself, we all have our own struggles and you don't need to distract yourself. It helps to sit and be aware of the feelings, but also trust that in time you will be okay. And in terms of the relationship, if there's an issue, you decide if it's worthy bringing up. I do not feel like there's anything such as "small" or "big" issue and comunication helps. I know saying this is easier said than done and I myself sturggle in effectively communicating but I believe we will both learn from these hardships.
@mysticael
If something feels like a huge issue to me I make sure to wait and give myself time to think it over alone. I figure if it
