I understand my anxiety but I can
Ever since I was a kid the fear of death lurked in my mind. It popped into my mind in moments of solitude, moments when a normal mind would feel a sense of calm. I would find myself laying in bed on the verge of sleep when into my mind popped the idea of death and the dark hole of nothing that followed. Fear would grasp my throat and I would pop upright gasping for air. For the following days all I could think about was death and eventually as quickly as it had appeared the fear melted from my mind.
These waves of fear have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Certain things trigger it like large heights, feeling out of my comfort zone, and seemingly high risk activities.
Recently my mind has been blowing this fear out of proportion. Every activity seems to have the possibility of death and thus panic attacks come on quite frequently.
I need to know how to manage this fear so that I can control my life, not my fears.
