"Just get over it"
Those four words haunt me everyday. Lately (in the last 2 or 3 months) I have been having more frequent and severe panic attacks. Things that use to make me happy now cause me pain, I'm not sure what happened to make that switch.
I use to go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week and now the thought of going causes me to break down, cry, heart racing and feeling paralyzed. The thought of people looking and judging me absolutely terrifies me.
I'm in the process of moving and everytime i go to my old apartment to get some of my things I have a panic attack again. Just being in that old apartment makes my heart race. I can't be there for longer than 20 minutes without breaking into a full blown panic attack, and I have no idea why.
Unfortunately, I have a whole family who doesn't understand how hard the little things are for me now, and I hear those 4 little words all the time and it just makes me feel pathetic for getting so emotional at times.
Luckily, I have a very supportive (although not totally understanding) significant other who helps me through my panic attacks. This website has also helped me remarkable when I am feeling this way. Who knew talking to a total stranger would be so therapeutic!?
So thank you all for being such an amazing, and welcoming community!
"How hard the little things are for me" this made me feel so much, i also feel weak because of how easy others think the healing from panic attack is, i wish psychologie would be taught at every school so people could know how to help theirselves and others. The fact that others dont understand our situations makes them worse.
@Quinzel241 You are welcome!
