Life Update! || Blossombreathe
Hiya,
There are two things which I've noticed recently about my anxiety and depression; I was wondering if any of you can relate.
Firstly: dreading new year and school.
New Year is a time for a fresh start and self improvement, which normally, I love. New starts are amazing, they bring new opportunities and a blank canvas to do whatever you want to. However with that, it can sometimes daunt me. Being given a chance to be free and almost start again and tell your story can be a very nerve-wracking time. We worry about going wrong and not achieving goals (which in some cases, are too big and overwhelm us) when really we should just be thankful that things like this happen. It's human instinct to worry and think about things like messing up the year and nobody should be put to blame for that. What I find people miss is that new year is about progress and you. Yourself. People follow others and make unrealistic goals then get a gut wrenching feeling when they don't achieve it.
I made a feed post a while ago and I think it is quite relevant to new beginnings, let me show you:-
"Things always go wrong. Whether you like it or not. It's the memories that count. We are constantly learning, trying to be the best. There isn't such thing as a perfect life. So what are we trying to achieve? Progress. Recently I feel like my life has been standing still. Almost like everything has paused for something yet I don't know what. "I'm too busy working on my own grass to notice if yours is any greener" Progress is why we need to keep going. Right? "
I feel like during the chaos of the moment, people often forget this. Everyone strives for the best and don't realise what they're doing!
School...
People love it, are okay with it, or hate it. I'm right at the bottom of the scale! The thought of spending at least 6 hours in a place other than home, with no phone is quite annoying, don't you think? Then it just adds on from there. It starts with social anxiety (recently diagnosed) Being constantly on edge isn't the best when you have to spend the vast majority of daylight hours there! Depression.(also diagnosed) Lacking concentration and motivation to actually do the work! Alongside all of that there comes friends and managing your time! Trying to continue participating on 7Cups while completing homework at the same time. Even getting family time in and time to care for yourself becomes hard! No wonder so many teenagers are stressed/developing mental illnesses.
My second observation is a little more complicated.
Whenever I am having a tough time, whether that may be anxiety or depression, I need to just: stop. Everything. I'm sure many listeners and friends have heard me say: "I need everything to stop. It's all going too fast." And the truth is, life goes very fast!
We're all chasing dreams and focusing on ourselves then all of a sudden... We look up and see a whole world around us doing amazing things which makes whatever we are doing seem so miniscule and pointless.
Sometimes I like to sit down on my windowsill, with the window open and watch the world go by. Not doing anything or thinking.. Just being there and watching other people live their lives. It's honestly amazing; you should give it a go!
So, back to the point of wanting every single thing in life to be held at standstill.. It's not possible, I know. We all have this thing which enables us to make our thoughts a sort of reality: our imagination. Even though the world may be messed up; with people suffering around the world, we can still try to make the most out of things. If you feel overwhelmed and need the world to stop: you do just that. Stop everything you're doing and just simply be there. Don't worry about the world or anything. Sometimes we forget that we're all human. Nobody is perfect. That's why we make mistakes. Holding everything off, just for a few minutes, really can make the world of difference.

I've got a little update for all of you lovelies! ^-^ I think I should share my true self a bit more sometimes. I've been diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and Depression and am taking medication for it. I'm on the road of recovery! Yes, it is a bumpy road and there are lots of hills on the horizon but with help in real life and on 7Cups; I believe I can do it. Something which I worried about before telling my parents... "What if people never see me like they did before?" And then I realised something. Your mental illness/illnesses don't define you. You are still in your own skin. No matter what mindset you are in right now, or tonight, you will still be human. Embrace that!
To conclude, this was an update about me I guess! I hope you gained something from it and I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of the topics raised. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to respond as soon as possible.
Wishing you all the best,
Lauren xoxo

@blossombreathe I love your personality! I agree with you about life going too fast, I think stopping and just being in the present is a help to me, that being said, it is so hard for me to do, I get anxious just thinking about all my worries and life just passes me by. I love your confidence! Hope you have a great new year!
@blossombreathe
Just know that we will always be here for you! You know you can talk about anything with me and I'll do my best to give you my honest feedback on it. Even if it's just messing around and helping you eliminate boredom =p <3

@blossombreathe I kinda read it now :p good words I guess, and btw what you said about recovery at the end reminded me of a thingy I said before "The road to recovery may be a long one with a load of downfalls, but in the end it's a path that is above all else great to walk down." hehe :p maybe great minds think alike? ;) :p *huggles* <3
