My mom has been feeling unwell, and this year she’s gotten a bunch of procedures done. Today I couldn’t get in contact with her for a few hours and I had a full blown panic attack. I always expect the worst, but try to hope for the best. Today I really thought I would need to take my meds, but luckily I didn’t. It’s been a difficult year for us. I need to learn better coping methods.

Any recommendations?

@divinedaisies I've been in that situation, too, divine, and it's really rough when you are trying to check in with someone you're worried about and can't do that. I wish I had a really good idea to share. Personally, I check in with my mom daily and we share our schedules and such, and for some reason that feels a little more calming. That way I know where she is, kinda, and it helps. I share my schedule so she doesn't think I'm being way too over-protective. Funny how you can start to "mother" your parents at a certain point, and I know my mom gets annoyed with that on occasion. In the end, she knows I love her, so she puts up with me! I hope you find your way forward. And I hope your mom starts to feel better. Take care.
