My Struggles with Anxiety
Well Hi, this is my first time I've ever posted on a sub community so forgive me if I'm doing this wrong xD, I guess I'd just like to share my story a bit for anyone who's struggling as of now to help them know they aren't alone? I have diagnosed GAD with panic, so I struggle with anxiety a good amount. Around last year it was like a constant struggle, everyday was filled with thoughts of paranoia and insecurity based off of every aspect in my life. It was like my own mind was trying to pick apart who I was as a person. I was drained of energy, felt secluded from the people I called my friends and most of all feeling just pretty alone. I've struggled with mental illness for a good amount of my life but it was this past year I really saw my anxiety take control. Towards the end of last spring, I saw myself having panic attacks frequently. In some cases it was happening everyday. With that being said, I did fight it alot. I had a good amount of coping skills and grounding techniques but it didn't always work. So that past summer I went to a psychiatrist, and officially was diagnosed, as I never wanted to just confirm it myself and was put on medication. Since then, my general anxiety has been almost completely gone and while I still struggle with a good amount of panic attacks, I have the coping skills to work myself through it. Mental illness is a fight you can win! It gets better no matter how hard your mind wants to tell you it doesn't. Asking for help is okay and working through it is the best thing you can do! I guess that

Great message! So true too. Once we beleive this, we have the most important tool to start the process of taking back our control. Asserting our minds, while knowing our efforts to focus on self care, we can, and do defeat anxiety. I prooved that to myself again last night, and basked in the calmness afterwards ๐
Great positive message ๐
