My almost crippling anxiety

Hello, I am new to this and thought it would be a good idea to share what I have been experiencing lately.

I have always had trouble with my anxiety but for a few years I was able to get it under control. Everything changed when my boyfriend and I went to New York for a little vacation (late 2019). We made it about an hour into the trip and I had a major panic attack (on the bus, I also get motion sickness) that lasted for a good three hours. We unfortunately weren't able to continue the trip and had to have a couple friends who lived in PA come pick us up from a rest stop in NJ. We finally got home a day later and everything seemed fine. Two days later my anxiety came back full blown with no explanation or trigger. I had to take about a week off from work to get my mind back to a stable state.

I was good for a couple months and then we went to DC for a hockey game. Work was busy that day and I wasn't able to eat much throughout the day. We got to a restaurant, ate, started walking to the stadium and everything hit me all at once. I got dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, shaky and my vision went white for a few seconds. We made it back to the parking garage just in time for all of my food to come back up and put me in a full fledged panic attack. We sat in the garage for about 40 minutes until I was able to get in the car and go home.

My anxiety and the way I eat now has completely changed. I can no longer eat out without thinking about if I am going to get sick and have another panic attack. I have always had a bit of a sensitive stomach but lately it has been connected to my anxiety. If I eat something (even if it's something I'm used to) my stomach gets upset by it and it triggers my anxiety. My immediate thought goes to "am I going to throw up? What is going to happen since I'm not home? Am i going to have a panic attack?" There are more thoughts that run through my mind that make it worse as well.

I am on medication and have Xanax on the side if needed. I try not to use it, instead I try and use my lavender oil and cbd oil.I have always had a bit of a sensitive stomach but lately it has been connected to my anxiety. At times I am unable to function and completely shut down making my thoughts and anxiety run wild.

If anyone has any ideas or has gone through a similar situation I'd love to hear them !

Hello @Subiechick

It sounds like you are dealing with a lot of anxiety. I'm sorry you are going through this <3 7Cups has a couple of self-help guides that might help :) Here is a self-help guide on anxiety and here is a self-help guide on panic attacks. You mentioned that you don't take your medicine. How would you feel about taking it?
