My anxiety & depression are killing me
Hi all. I found this site a few days ago and it is the only time my anxiety & depression subsides for a little, so thank you for that. My anxiety is so bad that my everyday medication isn't working as it should. I'm going to message my doctor tomorrow. I have heart palpitations 24-7. I can't sleep, eat, smile, engage in activities, nothing. I literally don't know what to do. I have tried herbal stuff, self help books, therapy, exercise, meditation etc. Would appreciate any advice as well as a long time listener. Thanks so much🙏🏻.
@Christine760 - I'm sorry for what you are going through. I think going to a therapist is the best way to go. Have you been able to figure if something triggers your anxiety? i have no advice to give as I wouldn't know how but know that you are not alone in your journey.
I am not good in talking about anxiety, you know but there are many good sites on the internet that may help you.
And we many times forget the professional help there is. i think you need to go to your psychiatrist back and see what he/she says about your concerns.
besides therapy, as i have read from sources although i havent experienced, may not work first time or with first person
so you will want to try another try and then anotherone and then another till it works
thanks
@Christine760 I don't know if these will help, but what has had the most impact on my anxiety is eliminating problems that I could eliminate, like harmful people and bad jobs, getting rid of pointless irritants like making the habit of putting my hair back or using scrunchies to hold my sleeves up before doing dishes and whatnot so I don't have the aggravation of messing with those things, and touch, like rubbing my arm. Breathing helps, but not actual exercises, exercises stress me out, just taking time to breathe. I've also discovered that singing certain types of songs gives you a similar feeling, breathing satisfying breathes. I've tried a little aromatherapy and color therapy, but it's kind of hard to judge how much that's helping.
