My kitty cat
TW cancer, pet loss
Hi,
I found out today that my kitty cat has a tumor on his eye. He will need surgery to remove the eyelid or potentially his whole eye if it is severe enough. Luckily, I do have pet insurance, and if they approve my claim, that will strongly help my financial concerns about it. The doctor had to write a special letter to them explaining it's not an underlying condition (it's super complicated here in the USA). I have an exam tomorrow and am feeling very upset and stressed about it and also worried about being distracted to finish studying to pass the exam.
Maybe some people cannot understand being so worried and upset about a pet but keep in mind it is a big financial concern and additionally, he has been a huge emotional support for me in dealing with loneliness, abusive family members, and depression. A lot of the time it feels like me and my kitty cat against it all. Dramatic maybe, but I am just feeling emotional right now. Any kind words or encouragement are appreciated.

@Daydreamer47 I totally relate. A pet is a family member, and you love your cat. It certainly must be stressful as you await a decision on the surgery. I wish you all the best as you get the answers and I hope it works out and that your kitty doesn't lose the eye. Emotional support is real with pets. Take care, dreamer.
@Daydreamer47 I can relate to what you are saying and I don't find it dramatic at all. I have been thru health problems and losses of cats. I found it very painful and financially stressful as well. That was really smart of you to purchase pet insurance. I hope that they approve your case.
