Needing help and dunno what to do
Not sure if this is the right thing to be doing but any help but be much appreciated, my partner said to me yesterday that my mental health is ruining our relationship. I can understand what she mean as right atbthe start I made the mistake of going through her phone I never found anything but I still can't get it out of my head that any message is a guy trying to take her off me. I do trust her and I know she is loyal as she had never given me a reason not to trust her I just struggle as of my past relationships have been ones where I've been left for other guys been cheated on, or been mentally abused. We have both agreed that I need to make my mental health better before we carry on with our relationship I just don't know how to make it better, I usually go to the gym or race my motorbike but these are more coping methods and not dealing with the issues. So if anybody could help or point me in the right direction that would be muchly appreciated.

Hello! <3
I'm really glad that you're reaching out for support, guidance, and help during this hard time in your life. Sometimes I have similar confrontations with my boyfriend and they are definitely hard to handle. Most of the time it has to do with my self-esteem and how I view my self-worth; both of those come from abusive relationships in the past. Other relationships can shape us to who we are today, but if we find someone we truly care about, sometimes working through the hard stuff can be the best way to move forward. I'm really happy that you trust your partner and know that she is loyal - that's an important thing to recognize when attacking a situation like this. Going to the gym and racing are definitely good coping methods and you should continue to do them! Maybe doing some other activities could help as well. Attacking and really delving deep into your mental health can be a hard process. I would encourage you to reach out to a therapist, either in-person or online, as they could help you work through anything you're struggling with at this point in time. We also have a relationship support subcommunity at 7Cups and they may be able to provide you with ways to overcome struggles from past relationships and implement new ways to better your current relationship. You could also look through the list of self-help guides that 7Cups offers and see if any of those may help you through this journey. As always, if you ever need someone to talk to, you can connect with a listener here. <3 I wish you the best of luck with your relationship and bettering your mental health. We're all here for you!
