New Job anxiety
I recently accepted a job that said they would pay to train to become a licensed health insurance agent. I had to learn everything Medicare. I took the 2 week class. They paid for the exam to become licensed. I pass the exam with the first try. I trained another 5 weeks to actually sale plans. The class was basically throw on the phones in the 6th week. I currently take alprazolam for anxiety. Usually as needed 1 a day but since this job I'm at 2 maybe 3. I worked customer service 10 years before this job. I've had rude customers before. But after being on the phones the past 2 weeks and speaking with elderly people in which they call in seeking to find out if this plan would be better than there Medicare. I have found that they can be extremely rude and nasty. I have always been taught to be respectful to my elders even at my age of 55. I would never be disrespectful to them. Since this job out of 10 calls at least 8 will be so rude and mean. It's never a simple no it's always NO!!! YES!!! I DONT HAVE EMAIL. STOP SENDING MAIL TO MY ADDRESS!!!. I know I have my issues with anxiety. And I am not thick skin where most people can shake this feeling. I actually did not go to work yesterday and not planning to go today. I feel I may have a little depression or maybe hormone inbalance. When I go back I fear I may just break because I don't deal with nasty attitudes well. And to have to deal with it all day. When I promise you I talk with a smile but it doesn't matter.

I agree with you. It's a very hard place to be, and I am in that same place. Many of the people that I work with are verbally abusive including my boss. I believe that for me to acheive better mental health to where I am not self-destructive, I need to escape this verbal abuse. Like you, I'm in this job for a few weeks as well, and recently my name has been dirtied by actions of my boss, for which she takes no responsibility. I am looking for another job, and at the same time, I am trying to deal with this one. Like you, I'm upping my meds, and I've added lithium aspartate. The lithium and the normal benzo does has helped me at some times. However, the lithium comes with its own side effects.
The bottom line is money. Like you, I'm not rich. Jobs are hard to come by, particularly for those for which I am trained/educated/experienced. We simply can't quit without some kind of safety net. I'm hoping that lithium/benzo combination will stabalize 'people verbally abusing me, people threatening physical harm, and having an unreaslistic and cruel boss (who used to be a friend), having my name dragged into the mud' and 'being okay with it' so that I can continue to earn an income and rebuild my life.
For what you are going through, I empathize.
@Darkseed..Thank you so much. My bosses are great and they wouldn't want anyone to leave because Monday is open enrollment. It's just the customers and there words. I decided not to go in today. This job last till Dec 31. I'm gonna start looking today because the next position down from sales is customer service. I have been told it is worst. Have a blessed weekend.
