Once successful

I was always so happy, so positive, so confident. I did struggle with depression and anxiety maybe about 10years ago while in a mentally abusive relationship, but feel like I had completely gotten over that for the most part. As I am now married and we are trying to conceive. My husband is amazing and supportive with my mental health, but works away during the week. I also work from home which can get isolating. I am work in a mid-senior level corporate position, I have always been pretty successful with my work. In January I quit my job with a multi billion dollar company that I had been with the last 8 years due to a horrible manager who would not allow me to really move forward unfortunately. I found another position before leaving that company, my new position is fully work from home (which I thought I wanted), more money and more time off. My new position offers a lot of freedom some days with working from home, but a lot of it is associate complaints and most of my daily work is pretty negative in nature. I was ‘coached’ by my manager on something last week, I usually do fine with things like this… but I felt sick and depressed for days. All the little things are starting to become big things and I don’t like this position for many reasons. I don’t know what to do. I can’t quit without another job, but I feel hopeless. I don’t think I like my field of work at all anymore and it’s causing stress and hopelessness. I have bills, a house and college loans and my husband can’t pay it all… I need a job.. and I can’t see taking a HUGE pay cut for a less stressful job, I will take a little bit of one to be happier, but can’t cut that much. I just feel hopeless and not sure how to move forward.

Hey, I’m glad you reached out!

The position your in really is a hard one, I don’t see much good coming from the feeling of hopelessness.

For starters, try feeling a little more hopeful, think about the good you have in your life and work with that.

Next, start looking for a job somewhere else, I understand you want to quit your job but just hold on a little longer, give yourself some time to look for one and keep a healthy mindset.

From what it sounds like, your husbands awesome, know that he’s got your back and only wants what’s best from you.

Try to relax and not worry about the little things, remember that all bad things pass and move over for better ones.

You got this! Keep it up! You really are doing great!
