Online dating and anxiety
Sick of being single so have been putting alot of time into online dating for the last number of months. I was in such a good head space when i first started i.e. i waa managing my anxiety and moods. As my online dating experiences have been unsuccessful my head space has bee. Progressively getting worse and i now feel at an all time low.
I don't know what to do, it is stressing me out 😔

I hear what you’re saying, it can be super tough being so optimistic and putting yourself out there, for what may feel like “nothing” at the time. The thing with online dating is it may be a process, and it may not have anything to do with you. Other people on dating apps may not be looking for the same things as you yet, they may have different interests, maybe a “type.” That doesn’t have to say anything about you, though! You’re strong, you’ve got this, the key is it hasn’t happened *yet*

Online dating can work for some people, and can't for others. Maybe it's just something not for you. I understand that sometimes we can feel lonely, but the future partner is one, and you can meet them one day without expecting it :) love yourself and don't give up
@Curlygirl1 Sorry to hear that dating is giving you such a headache. It's always a bit of a balancing act between loneliness and a fear of getting that close to someone for me. I don't have any advice to give, but I hope things improve for you.
@Curlygirl1
It takes so much courage to put yourself out there and pursue a relationship. I'm inspired by your bravery to go after something you want despite those feelings of anxiety. It's understandable to feel distressed when things aren't going the way you planned. What have you tried to deal with the increased stress you've been feeling?
@Curlygirl1 Hey girl. I totally get why you'd be stressed. Sometimes online dating can get tiring. I mean they're a lot of things that come into play. It can be a lot sometimes but I'm pretty sure you're an amazing person and you'll definitely find someone who'd love you how you want to be loved. The right person at the right time right?
@Curlygirl1
I feel you on this spiritually. Online dating has never worked out for me and has led me to some very low points in my life as well. For me I found that making intentions known with someone is always beneficial before things escalate, but honestly, putting the apps down was the best decision I've made for myself in regards to getting back in touch with myself and what matters to me.

Hello, I’m sorry you’ve been feeling low, it can be frustrating to put in a lot of time into online dating for a number of months and not getting the results you want. I understand you’ve been feeling low and its okay, how have you been coping?
@Curlygirl1, I understand that you are very sad about your single status, and the only thing you can do is online dating. It is fun, relaxing, and exciting to have a mysterious person behind the screen waiting for us to discover. As you shared, every adventure comes with risks and a higher failure rate. The success rate is also there, but it requires a lot of effort. What do you think about dating yourself before looking for your other half?
@Curlygirl1 I'm sorry this is happening. You for sure deserve everything good in the world and a good partner. Feeling that anxiety must be hard. I understand where are you coming from. What helps you cope with it?
@Curlygirl1 I'm so proud of you for putting yourself out there! That said, online dating (and generally all of these algorithm-based social medias) are designed to suck you in and keep you on the app for as long as possible. You match with someone superficially (just based on photos or voice clips), and then you chat online for a while before meeting up. There's no accountability, so ghosting and bad communication is the norm.
That is SO different from the in-person experience of someone catching your eye. In that situation, you can see how they carry themselves, how they treat the friends/family they are with, and how they are in-context.
I'm GenZ but still kind of old-school on this. The problem is not you, who is bound to be beautiful and lovely - it's the app!
