Overthinking and cancer recovery

I recently beat the physical aspects of breast cancer (I’m not even 40 yet) but they didn’t warn me about all of the mental issues that come once you’re done “checking the boxes” of treatment. I have started over-analyzing anything that wasn’t making me 100% happy (which I know is unrealistic to expect, but I can’t stop doing it) and removing it from my life since I’m terrified that the cancer will come back and I won’t be as lucky the next time. The problem is that nothing is 100% perfect and I’ve pushed away people that I care about. Now I’m anxious and cry frequently because I feel more alone than I was before the cancer. It may not have killed me, but I feel like it’s ruining my life and I can’t stop it.

@loyalDay3411 I understand that this diagnosis has really been hard on you, especially that you feel all alone. It really bothers you because when people look at physical illness, they don't recognize that emotional difficulties and challenges thst come with it. Cancer treatment surely is not pleasant, to say at the very least. People that haven't been through it or that haven't had personal experience with it oftentimes do not understand fully the impact that cancer and its treatment has on people's lives. As far as the medical community, it would have been nice for them to be emotionally available to you. I am happy to hear that you beat the physical aspects of breast cancer. You fear that it may come back again and you are young as well. It's sounds like that you have detoxified to help you heal, but on the other hand you feel thst you have pushed everyone away. As a result, you feel really lonely and sad. I am glad that you reached out. Reaching out creates opportunity for you to find people to connect with.
