Panic attack
Hello all
im new here…I guess I’m here to find some help because I can’t afford therapy rn. I don’t insurance. Any how I experienced my first panic attack a couple of weeks ago, since then my moods have been all over the place. I seem to be lashing out more often and becoming over sensitive. These aspect are causing some grief in my day to day. I do have childhood trauma, though the events don’t place a hold on me as I have found some peace with it. I just need better coping skills for the every day stressors. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I need help managing my anxiety.

Experiencing your first panic attack must have been a terrifying experience, I'm sorry that you had to go through that and I hope you're in a safer place now.
It's great that you're reaching out for help. You don't have to do this alone. There are plenty of resources across the site!
What have you been doing so far to help? Have you found anything that is helpful? What wasn't helpful to you?
Some common techniques for dealing with anxiety include deep breathing and grounding. One way of grounding would be to identify 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can feel, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste.
There are plenty of gifs out there that can help with timing your deep breathing. There is the gif from the growth path, as well as a gallery here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/AnxietySupport_53/AnxietySupportResources_412/Gifstohelpyourelaxandcalmyoudown_54192/1/

I know that you said you have found peace with your childhood trauma, but in case you're interested, there is a Trauma subcommunity. You can find more resources and information through their page here: https://www.7cups.com/home/trauma/
