Scared of the future
I have no idea what my future looks like. i dont know what to do in life. im 23, i got a 2 years degree, but i dont want to work in that field. i was considering psychology studies, but then also navy, cinema school, graphic design, 3D animation. i dont know what to do. i got a small 3 months job which is progress because im not used to jobs and get anxious about it. but i only started 1 month ago. im still kinda anxious but im dealing with it. i live with my parents. but im worried about their age, theyre 64, and while everyone keeps telling me thats not old, im worried about their health, them dying, me ending up on the streets if they pass away before i settled down, im feeling selfish just writing this but its a fear. Also thats why im ln the fence about doing psychology studies, its 5 years in college, meaning id be living with my parents til 29? and im anxious about that. makes me feel like id fail. how am i supposed to retire at 60+ if i cant even find what i wanna do? sometimes i have so many ideas about stuff id like to own, things id like to do, then when i think about working to get them, or journey torwards it i get stressed. im not a people person, i just want to live in a cabin in a mountain and be at peace.
If youve read it all, thank you for taking the time. hope all is well for you guys.

Very few young adults know what they want for their future. Typically, you go to school and a get an idea of the classes that you find interesting and then you can move in that direction. It sounds like you are mostly interested in the arts right now so give that a go. I am not sure what your 3 month job is, but it sounds like perhaps an internship? If this job has some potential then you go in that direction for a bit. Nothing is set in stone and while you still live with your parents you have the chance to try new things.
As for being worried about your parents and their health, are either of them ill? If not, then it sounds like just a normal anxiety that everyone has about their loved ones. We all have fears, whether they are rational or not, and we just have to accept them and move on. If this is something that is running through your mind and disrupting your daily life that is a different story.
I would highly suggest you look into some counseling. I know that my son went for group counseling at his school and found it was very helpful. Sometimes it helps to discuss your thoughts with others in your same situation. If you are feeling more private, then individual counseling could help you acquire some of the skills both emotionally and academically. Have you sat down with either of your parents? Perhaps they can ease your mind on some of the issues you bring up.

it's true that i'm into arts, the problem is that i recently started learning how to draw/paint on my own but i'm not quite there yet. and i would assume that for 3D animation or graphic design you would need to know how to draw properly. about cine school, i would but it's very expensive, way too expensive for me. now about psychology studies, it would seem possible but my problem with it is that it's 5 years, and i would be 29. somehow being 29 and being at my parents's feels like a failure. and the navy could be possible also, but i need to do more sports and eat healthier for that. i also don't know what field in the navy. i'm lost on alot of things.
for my parents, they're not at "risk" per say, but my mom has had healthy complications in the past, among them, 3 strokes (cerebrovascular accident), and is currently loosing her sights, due to them, which worries me quite a bit.
for the counseling, i would but i live in a very small village. not much is possible there. i'm not quite sure i'm in need of that yet, my worries seems superficial compared to some of the people who go there.
nonetheless, thank you for your time and i hope all is well with you.

So many things can change in 5 years. Heck things change week by week. Projecting too much out into the future doesn't do anyone well. At some point you learn that you can think and plan all you want, but we don't have as much control and we believe.
I went back to school in my late 20's. I was working full time and then decided that I was helping my boss make so much money when I felt as if I was far more knowledgeable then he was. I took a couple of night classes and when I saw how enjoyable they were, I just kept going. My advise to you would be the to take a few classes and see what works. I don't know if you are working right now, but I would highly suggest you find work. I know you said you had a 3 month job and that is great, but after that you should be looking for something. It doesn't matter what type of work. It could be retail, food service, administrative, but this will help with your confidence and give you a better idea of working in a different environment.
Lastly, you may choose to stay a few more years with your parents or something may occur and you may be out on your own. When I used to worry about years in the future, my dad would say that I was going to get older anyway so whether I try one thing or another, 5 years are still going to pass.
