School Anxiety

Hi,

I am feeling very anxious about my online class that I am taking. It has a deadline of the 26th. I have gotten a bit behind and have an overwhelming amount to do between now and then plus I need to study for and schedule my final exam. I am working on the class for several hours every day, including days that I have work and trying to set timers to keep myself moving forward through what I need to finish.

I have just emailed my professor asking for a few days extension explaining I am struggling with my mental health. I am feeling anxious about that, feeling afraid that she will judge me, but I wanted to try to ask anyway.

@Daydreamer47 It's stressful to take online classes because it is so easy to fall behind and I also found myself doing the same for one of my classes because it was all asynchronous. I think voicing that this is harming your mental health and inducing a lot of anxiety is good for you because your feelings are valid regardless of what your professor may say. In most cases, your professor should be understanding and asking for extensions is needed sometimes. But I hope that even if this class is stresful, you get through it:)

@luxx454 Yes, thank you very much. I agree with you and expressing how I am doing being valid. Struggling with fear of being judged or reprimanded is really what makes me anxious about this type of thing.

So far she said I most likely qualify since I am almost done and have made decent progress through the course. My counselor is going to write me a note on Tuesday.
