So Embarrassing

A few days ago I had my first consultation with a doctor about my GA & SAD. I Knew about my appointment 2 weeks in advance so I mentally prepared myself and what I was going to say. Fast forward to the day of my consultation. While trying my best to keep myself calm and talk to the doctor I had a sudden anxiety attack and then a panic attack it was so embarrassing I ended my consultation in tears. Its been three days since then but I can't stop replaying the incident in my head and feel sick about it.

@Mindfulcrissy

I know how you feel. I always try to prepare myself for appointments as well yet it seems no matter how much we try to mentally prepare our nerves get the best of us. Don't beat yourself up about it, I think it's fine even if it was embarassing. I have my fair share of embarassing moments as well, sometimes I feel like hiding from the world so I wouldn't have to deal with the pain of embarassment. So, if it helps that someone else understands how you feel, then.. I completely do. It's great that you still went to the consultation regardless of the outcome. Keep going strong. I'm encouraging you! Hold up. You can get through this time.

Hey @Mindfulcrissy, I'm so insanely proud of you. You don't even know me and you probably never will, but what you did is one of the bravest things any person can do. Our culture praises the emotionally "strong" for hiding and concealing their problems. And that's just not a natural thing for human beings. Why do you think so many people identified with the children's movie song "Let it Go."

You opened up to someone critical in your life. Sometimes people need a long cry and sometimes our symptoms paint the picture for us, without words. You're on your way to the support you need. Thanks for reaching out to us here. You're never alone.

I agree with everyone else. You are awesome. After meeting with my doctor like 6 times I still haven't even begun to explain how bad off I really am. I think you did great. I hope you get all the help you need.
