Hi. I am a college student and I always feel uncomfortable in crowded places, it is awkward for me whenever I socialize with people, i feel like everyone is watching and judging every moves i do. It's k*ll*ng me because it affects my egeryday liife I am 20 years old and I feel worthless and idiot about this. I am confused and overthinking on our coming face to face classess because I think I know now what will happen and I'm afraid that some of people in our university might judge the way I awkwardly move. I need your help on how to act normal with this or what eles I can do?

Hello ✨ I can relate to you in terms of social anxiety, worries about how we behave and what others might think about it. It can be comforting when we avoid people and engage with others through online mode of communication, as we did during the pandemic, but in the end, we are social beings and we need to communicate with others, face-to-face. We are getting back to how it used to be before the pandemic.

For me, I realised that analysing my thoughts helps. By that I mean, identifying what kind of thinking I have (Am I trying to be too perfect when it doesn’t really matter to others, whether some behaviour of mine which is bothering me isn’t noticeable to others, etc.) helps me be realistic. Truly, I have found that some worries of mine are just worries, while other worries indicate that it’s time for me to make changes to reduce those worries. What helped me is talking to people I trust, asking them feedback, and practising how to communicate with those trusted people. Hope this helps 🌻
