So completely stressed out today

Someone in my life is making poor choices that could have an adverse affect on our lives. And it's freaking me out. I just feel it's completely irresponsible. It's one thing when you do things that only affect you. But when you do things that can affect your whole family, I just don't get it. I wouldn't make these choices.

Sorry - just trying to keep things vague here. I just feel alone today and feel like I'm working hard to do everything I can to make things better, and this family member isn't.

@thoughtfulmomma I can definitely relate to feeling all alone in a crisis. Lucky for us we at least have this resource. Imagine having absolutely no avenue for venting frustration.

If you don't mind sharing it would be nice to know a little more about the choice/decision that is being made. I think you would get better feedback and ideas if you did.

Remember... Deep breaths.

Having 7 Cups to let go of the frustration (or at least vent some of it out) is definitely helpful. The struggle I'm dealing with has to do with finances. It's like this - you have a job that pays $50k/year and you and your family can live on that. Then one day you decide to quit and just take some random, minimum wage job that is just not going to pay the bills. I just don't understand why people do it (and I've known several people that have!). Maybe it's just me and I don't have any sort of "free spirit" to just let life happen and whatever happens will happen and it all works out in the end. Maybe everyone else just has an easier time with life and I'm one that is meant to struggle with every incident.

Oh, the dreaded M word. It would be so nice if it wasn't needed at all. But alas, it is. I'm on the opposite end of the issue right now, looking for a better, higher paying job. I need the money at this point so I'm going to have to suck it up and take a job that I probably won't be overly happy with. In my case I'm the only one affected by the decision. In your case though it looks as though a number of other people may be negatively impacted by the choice the other individual has made. However, this may have been a path that person had to take for his/her own well-being. Have you thought of ways to soften the effects of this event? Are there life-style changes that can be made or is the belt already as tight as it can be? Are there opportunities that can be taken now that weren't available before? Yeah, more questions but perspective plays a big role in how we feel about a situation. Remember too that there's a big difference between need and want.

Well, I hope that helps some. Best wishes.
