Something I wrote- trust

I used to write a while ago, and after a very difficult thing I went through today, I wrote again. Thought I could share it with you:

Trust

What is trust anyway? Is it being able to tell secrets and trust the other person won’t tell it to anyone else?

In middle school, yeah sure, but the more you grow, the more complex “trust” becomes.

You know the taking and giving thing? Trust is about giving. Taking your heart off your chest with your own bare hands, and handing it over to someone else.

That bleeds, by the way. Remember that.

At some point, so many people have taken your heart, broken it and given it back, that you bleed out. You just do.

After you’ve handed your heart for the first time, trust becomes a bigger challenge.

Trust is a personality trait, sure, I have that. I easily, way often too easily, hand out my heart.

I trust people blindly even if I shouldn’t. But trust is also something that is built. And broken. And built again, just to break again. When does it end? When does it stop bleeding? I don’t know.
