"Task" Anxiety

Things this week have been good, and generally my anxiety has been better, but there's something that keeps bugging me, and I finally figured out what it is. I'll jokingly call it "task" anxiety. I have certain obligations that I need to take care of, but the thought of doing them makes me panic.

I felt this way in college, when I'd have a paper to do and it just freaked me out to do it. I would occasionally have the feeling pop up when I'd get new work assignments. Even though I was capable, I'd freeze, not knowing where to begin.

I have some volunteer work that I MUST do asap, but I'm frozen. I've got my "task anxiety." It's not hard work. It's easy, I know what to do. It might take me all of an hour total right now, and once I get rolling, I feel fine and push through. But starting is just virtually impossible. I am literally scheduling myself one hour to sit down, push through and get SOMETHING done.

I hate this feeling.
