I lost my daughter in 2007 when she was 5 months old to sids. Iv gone on to have two beautiful sons who are 11 and 8. My eldest son caught covid over Christmas, literally my worst nightmare as iv already lost a child and covid terrifies me and him catching covid has sent me into a spiral of anxiety it's so bad I can't switch off . My son is fine now and covid free but my mind keeps telling me something really bad is going to happen. I can't sleep or eat as I'm constantly in overdrive. I booked an appointment to see a doctor but when I was there I couldn't say why I was struggling and just said I had a bad neck even though he could see I was terrified just being out. I just needed to tell someone my anxiety is so bad. I'm still obviously able to care for my children, I'd do anything for them and on the outside I look fine but inside... inside... I'm fighting my mind and its exhausting

Hugs. I feel this sooo much!! Having anxiety when you are a mom is so hard. A lot of my anxiety stems from protecting my kids and Covid has made that even harder. My goal is to keep that anxiety level down. Have you tried deep muscle relaxation and guided breathing? I’m tired a lot and the last thing I want to do it work out, but try 60 seconds of all out as hard as you can go anything- (arm circles, running, jump rope) then rest and go again. 15 min is all you need and it will take away some of that tension and increase endorphins. This is what I’m working on this week! This and actually letting go and listening to my rationalizations.

I don't have COVID but I thought I did. I've been having symptoms that I can't explain...in a weird way I wanted it to be COVID so I could say it was that. But I'm depressed and I know it. Don't know how or why it's hitting me all of sudden...other than the obvious reality I don't know how to face... I miss my mom who died of cancer now 8yrs ago and Xmas and NYrs was her best and fun holiday. She made it so for everyone. Even thanksgiving subconsciously was difficult and I don't know how to really just say that and be ok with saying that. I'm exhibiting withdrawal symptoms in highs and lows...not wanting to be with anyone then needing to be held until I cry myself to sleep...It's exhausting. I resonated with what you said about seeming or looking "ok" on the outside but damn sure not ok on the inside... I've called out of work twice already because of my anxiety and suppressed-depression...now I have anxiety about losing my job that I already hate when I should only be grateful to have a job in the first place. Its a spiral of course..but I'm in need of your thread which helped me get out of my head too.

Thank you for sharing. You're not alone
