Tired of always being on alert

User Profile: Slugo

I feel like I've almost gotten the intrusive thoughts under control. But just the thought of having one makes me nervous and causes my heart to race. Even before I have one I know what triggered then in the first place and end up overanalyzing before a thought even enters my head. I feel like I'm always on guard to make sure they don't enter my heard and I'm exhausted.

Hi @Slugo, I feel you. It's easy said than done, but try to keep your mind busy somehow, engaging in some activity that leaves no room for those thoughts (video games, volunteering, studying something new, like a new idiom...). I've been there. Working and cleaning the house is what i do. I suffer from panic syndrome and once I lose control, it's a huge suffering that only goes away with pills... You got this. Try to think happy thoughts and focus on the bright side. Sending good vibes your way. Life's not easy, on the contrary. It's though, very though; hang on, you're not alone.

Thanks for the advice. I know I'm getting better and that it's a process, but I feel like the second I let my mind relax the thoughts fine rushing in.

@Slugo Yes, it's the same for me. It will get better. Try to get yourself physically tired, so you can go to bed and sleep right away. Keep it one day at a time. When you notice, days have past and you're better.
