Tired of being scared

I'm so tired of being scared of everything all the time. I'm always getting drawn into catastrophization and I'm incredibly self-critical.

Hi @hematite43 . I understand when you say being scared can be tiring and it can be so consuming . Have so me faith in yourself. Trust yourself , even if you make a mistake or take a wrong step , its okay. You would probably learn from this mistake and refine your thoughts and action. Even if you make another mistake, give yourself the space and support Hema.

Thank you. I appreciate you what you posted. I just worry that things are not going to be okay...and that some disaster is lurking just around the corner.

I can relate to that. It’s so hard to stop sliding into that mindset when something triggers it and it’s such a dreadful feeling. I hate feeling like that too.

Hiya @hematite43,

I think I have a very similar feeling to that which you have shared with us. I've realised, and had others point out to me, that I am a "worst-case" thinker and it is very draining to be in that mindset all of the time, that's for sure.

Do you find that it affects what you do, what opportunities you pursue and things like that?

If you ever want or need someone to discuss this with who has experience with this, please do send me a message, anytime!

@ListeningDoll

Thank you for your response. Yes, the "worst-case" thinking affects how I interact with the world in many important parts of my life. I end up with analysis paralysis.

Hey there, it sounds very harsh and very relatable at the same time. Unfortunately, we're the most cruel to ourselves and makes the living experience harder than it seems. It's important to breathe now and then I guess, then promote a little self-support when you feel like you're being self-critical cruelly.
