Watching scary stuff on youtube affects my anxiety...
So yesterday I was watching my favorite channel "chills". Seeing the first video I was getting nervous but continued. My mom has two dolls in our room and I was afraid for them to becomes alive. I grabbed them and put them in the livingroom and told mom I was getting nervous. I continue watching and I felt scared like if something was watching me. I kept thinking of scary scenario. I kept imagining scary thing in my closet. So I'm just saying if it's normal to feel like this all the time right after watching scary videos.
@xoxomewmew,Yes indeed its normal to dwell on a horror content after watching it,and people can be afraid immediately after,I too have experienced it.As for something being in the closet or dolls coming alive,rest assured these things happen only in movies and has nothing to do with reality.So you need not worry.Watching horror contents with someone and with lights turned on will make it more bearable...
@Ismail12 I can vouch for that🤗🤗🤗
@SakoombaKero, Exactly,Its part of the experience :)
That's why I quit watching news 10 years ago because they made me anxious. Jist don't watch anything that triggers your anxiety, is simple, as you stay away from fire for not being burned you stay away from things that make you anxious, simple🤗🤗🤗🤗
@SakoombaKero have you seen a difference after stopping watching news?
@xoxomewmew I surely did for certain! Stopped watching tv news, stopped reading newspapers, I was suddenly much more calmer. If i want a practical imformation I search online. Otherwise I don't care to be bothered with things tgat make me anxious. I have enough anxiety triggers as it is, I dkn't need to look for others. So, yes, quitting TV and newspaper news really worked for me and helped me🤗
@SakoombaKero I surely need to try that. I get really anxious when I hear the news on TV, or check for symptoms on Google. Anything that has to do with people dying a certain way and of viruses get me going crazy. If I hear that space is a threat I panic and begin to overthink. Sometimes I have intrusive thoughts of death happening to me.
@xoxomewmew they say "ignorance is bliss", too much "noise" information myght lead you to hypochondria, imagining or fear deseases or illnesses that you don't have. I like watching TV and movies but I am my own censor, when something triggers me I immediatelly change the channel. Plus I control the volume, plus I do not watch commercials which don't have an artistic or funny value. Let me give you an example: i do not watch the show on National Geographic called "Science Of Stupid" for 3 reasons: i do not like the word stupid, i do not like people getting hurt, i never thought it funny or enjoyable to see people getting hurt. Just an example. Be your own censor, mind what you watch for your own sake and you will be so much better.
