For two weeks I have been experiencing anxiety. Like I never have before, 20 years of emergency services I have seen a lot of things, now all of a sudden Im just overloaddd. Lots of things have happened in life lately and Im just over the top with it all. Im doing online counseling with a online therapist and then the listeners here. Im stuck in these cycles where I think something is wrong and my mind just cycles it over and over. And I just cant break the cycle. Some of the things I think about have little merit to them but my brain is making them out to be bigger than they are. So I hit up a listener, Ive had some good ones and then some that just stop talking? And it leaves me to think Im nuts? I get it they are volunteers, but hey could say sorry I have to run instead of just disappearing, makes me even more self conscious like maybe Im stupid for feeling the way I am. How do you stop silly thoughts that keep running through your head?

@FireDawg36 people are are selfish, not here to help, otherwise they will stick by you...i spent many years in hospitaks so I know how demanding it is to be a health care worker...you don't need a listener to find a friend...

@FlowersPralinesPresents as I said some have been good. I hope that others are the same. I just needed someone in the moment and it sucks when they disappear. Hopefully my fee that are solid come back on.

I recently lost my relationship of 8 years due to my anxiety. The worse thoughts run thru my mind and I k ow they are insane and most times wrong. Or ridiculous. But I can't stop them. And all these thoughts are made to break me down and make me feel Insecure. I hate it. I catch it when it's happening but I don't know how to stop it. I get these negative thoughts and I tell myself "it's impossible." Or "ignore it" cuz sometimes these thoughts don't even make sense. But when I do this... They seem to get louder. Or more repetitive in my mind. I don't feel like me lately. I just want my old self back. And possible my family back together.

@Moonlight0210 I know what you mean. When you say cycles. I actually started listening to guided meditations to ease my mind, and quiet my head. It did work. You possibly just have too much to contend with on your plate. Stepping out of it all to just relax is a big huge thing. It does help.

@FireDawg36

I got that feeling too. Like the listener was only there because they felt it was a job, not because they actually cared to get to know me. Quite frankly I'm rather dubious of this whole site. Considering what it's supposed to be, there are a lot of people here with other agendas....

I agree that a listener shouldn't just stop communicating with you, but try not to take it personally (which is easier said than done). Do you think the time of the year triggered your increased anxiety?
