I have had this tightness pain in my chest for over 2 weeks now and is not going away. It stays with me all the time. Almost like a weight on my chest. Is this called an anxiety attack?? What do I do? Note: Cant afford medical help.

@brightTree5008 - Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with this. It could be anxiety, but it could also be something else and if you aren't sure then it's really best if you can go to a doctor. There should be a place where they see patients for free although the wait might be longer than with a private doctor. Will you be able to go to such a place?

@OceanRest

Thanks for the reply. I do have insurance and those places where I am only accept people without. Even with insurance, it is not affordable for me.

More than anything I just need support and that isn't readily available from the people I know.

So sorry to hear that, it must be really scary!

If you are constantly thinking about it, there is a chance that you're exaggerating some kind of mild feeling in your chest, that might as well be muscle tension. Maybe you can catch yourself that the feeling is less noticeable when you are distracted. It also really depends on your age. If you're under 40, the chances of a heart problem are slim.

Obviously it is imposible to say for sure without any tests. Maybe you would be able to order an EKG or something similar, I really hope it would not cost that much.
