Worried about health
IBS or....
Hello, I recently went through a very stressfull time (husband job loss and the aftermath of his mental state) which left me extrememe stressed and still slightly stressed. I had a couple days I did nto eat or drink much if anything. Last week was a decent week and i resumed my normal eating/drinking schedule as always. This week though i have been having pains in my lower abdomend and pressure. Nothing sever just bothersome. I have had IBS in the past due to extreme stress and it does feel similar but last time it was in my upper abdomen near my ribs, not anything at/bellow my belly button. Someowhat feels like period cramps in a way..but different. I took some medicine (miralax and gas pills) which somewhat help but the feeling is still there.
I have health anxiety so i try not to go crazy googling. I saw a video online though of a girl that had state 4 colon cancer in her 30's and her pain mimiced IBS and she had no idea. so now im super worreid about that. I am 31 and i keep telling myself to think logically that i just threw my entire system off by being so stressed that im having some digestive issues or maybe even inflimation. I just want to feel better and now worry about it!
Im switching life insurance so I have a CBC test for life insurance coming up in a week which they run it for a lot of things to make sure you arent already sick. Would that show if something is wrong with me like cancer? I just had a CBC done for my physical like 2/3 mo ago with my doctor but i had no IBS type symptoms then. Sorry for the long read, i would appriciate some guidance or if anyone has similar digestive issues.
Symptoms:
Twinges of pain at/around belly button
Twinges of right and left side of lower abdomen
heaviness/full feeling below belly button
some nauseau if im really focued on my issues
constipation but meds have seem to fix that (still having some discomfort)
some back pain
Thanks!
@BeOurGuest , Sorry to hear about your husband's job loss. Hope both you and your husband are feeling better. Stress can create havoc in one's body and you sound like you have gone through a really challenging time. It is a good idea to have a proper check up as you might end up raising your stress whenever you do not feel well even though it might not be an illness. So a proper check up might give you a clearer picture of your health condition and indirectly reduce the apprehension or anxiousness. By the way , it is actually good that you are able to talk about your worries instead of bottling them up. Feel free to chat with any of the listeners anytime you want someone to listen to you.
