anxious and lonely
I just moved to a new city to start graduate school and I know no one. I moved away from most of my support system and I don't know how to start over. I am always busy with school and constantly worried about what is coming up next and I have no one to talk to or hang out with when I'm not busy so then I just sit and ruminate. I know that the school I chose was the right fit for me but these past few weeks have me questioning whether I made the right choice
Hey, I know it must be taxing for you but trust me it gets better eventually. Just hang in there. Text me if you wish, we can come for a chat :)
@sensiblePrune265 hello there! I'm so sorry you feel that way!! Sometimes moving away can be really hard and exhausting! I'm always here if you ever want to talk(: Take care!!
@sensiblePrune265 You made a brave choice to move to a new school and prioritize your future but it definitely sounds overwhelming to be pushed so far out of your comfort zone. It'll probably take some time to get to know new people in your area on a deep level but it's more likely than not to eventually make some friends.
When you mention school, it makes me think of how I've met a few friends from college by making group chats so we could study together. Even though only a fraction of people responded to my group chat invitations, I got to talk to new people and get to know them anyway. By studying with classmates, you start out conversing about class and then can switch to other topics. Other similar options could be to join clubs at your school or volunteering opportunities in your community.
The world is out there. You've gone this far in exploring it but surely there's more to see.
