Happy New Year everyone !

i dont know if its the right place to post this but everytime i post something in the community related to school i dont have any answer.

As 2020 just started, i want to be a better person this year and having new goals in life. Unfortunatly, my mind doesnt want me to change. I have my last finals exams next week and i always say to me that i will fail, that im a failure and that i will never succeed.

Its really hard, because of these thoughts I cannot concentrate and study. as soon as i want to open a book, i'm scared and anxious. I really want to succeed and prove to some bad people that I can do it and that I can graduate but in my mind its like yeah, i cant. (Im a university student). Can someone help me ?

plus , i dont know who i am anymore and what kind of person i want to be. The future scare me.

@Sosophke

hi, sosophke!

Don't let your inner thoughts stop you from going out there and conquering the world. We are stronger than our thoughts and can't let it consume us. You are not a failure, you are a succeeder. Remember this. <3 Remember also that it is a new year! Time to accomplish new goals, new dreams. :)

I get that exams are important but if you think that in a few years these exams probably won't even cross your mind and won't be that important anymore I think the best thing to do is try your best and I'm sure you'll do good and if not so what at least you tried and if anyone says otherwise ignore them I believe in you. I totally understand what you mean about feeling like you don't know who you are but trust me things will get better as hard as it is try to focus on the positives 💕 also happy new year 🥳 you're amazing remember that 💗💗💗

@Lottie0320 hello, thank you for your answer ! I didnt go to school in December because I just cant, just thinking about it makes me anxious and i did panick attack on panick attack. I dont want to be in this school next year anymore so I really need to succeed my exams but I dont now, its like my body and my mind dont want to. I just need some motivation and I will try to focus on the positive

@Sosophke I completely understand what you mean if you get anxious often maybe it might be worth talking to somebody like a therapist or counsellor it sounds scary I know but it really could help and it's perfectly okay to need a bit of help sometimes. Or even watch some videos on coping techniques to prevent or help with panic attacks and anxiety because it is okay to not be okay as long as you don't stay that way remember that. Honestly though believe me I have social anxiety and sometimes get to the point where I physically cannot speak to people but I've watched some videos and found a few coping techniques that have really helped so it might be worth doing. I'm not saying it'll be easy but you should try to face going to your classes because it'll be worth it in the long run I know how hard it is but with coping skills it might turn out to be not as bad as you'd thought.
also if you ever feel sad or like nobody cares about you just remember there are so many people who want to help you just have to show them how and if you feel like you have nobody remember that I care about you and that I believe in you and that things can and will get batter for you 💗

Yes, as your thoughts begin to overwhelm you and take over your life, you can still fight! The thought of failure can consume you when you've experienced educational neglect or you're stressed. And studying can be hard when you can get distracted or the thought of failure pressures you to do better, but you're upset and you do worse. But make that pressure into confidence! If you think; "I can do better, I will succeed!" Your're guaranteed to do so much better, because all that pressure has turned into good thoughts!! I believe in you!! Lots of from Isabella!

@IsabellaMarx thank you for your answer Isabella, it means a lot !

I just want these bad thoughts to go away. These past few months were awful at school. My teachers put pressure on me and they werent satisfied with me and the work that I did. I saw the true face of my classmate and some of my friends , these people just want you to fail. Plus I need to do a work for the school with one of these friend and and it's not going well. she gives me orders, she talks to me badly, she takes over the work and then she talks behind my back saying that I am doing nothing? and when I do something, she says I did the job wrong. I am desperate I have to work with her until June and I cannot change partners or do the work alone. I already told her what I was feeling but she dont care. So yeah, pray for me until June.

because of that I didnt go to school in December because I had enough, I did panick attack on panick attack, just thinking that I will go back there next week makes me anxious. And now I cant sleep well, I wake up in the middle of night. I just want to be in peace

Even if you don't believe that you will pass, telling yourself that you will will eventually make it's way into your mind internally and eventually come true. It's called a self-fulfilling prophecy.

When you worry about doing poorly, it causes a self-fulfilling prophecy in the inverse.

I want you repeat positive statements in your mind whenever you feel doubt. Anxiety is a monster and these statements will slowly kill it into a smaller size.

I would recommend taking time to figure out which study methods work best for you. Once you find that, in between study sessions, you can reward yourself or do a medition to keep you grounded into the present tense.

Don't focus on the big overarching picture - it's overwhelming and will feed the anxiety monster - instead think of breaking down the larger task into more manageable sub-sections. Focus on those smaller sub-tasks to preoccupy your thoughts.
