friends
i just feel like i cant make friends
i cant even properly talk in the group chats
i just feel like i have no one
At times things don't happen the way we want them to be. And we become all sad about it. We start to think things are never the way u wish and feel depressed..
But that's when the God comes and gives you things better than you expected! And you are all like "Oh My God!" :D
If life is always the way we expect it too be then it'd be so unexciting, so boring. So leave your wishes, desires, needs, troubles, worries, problems on to HIM! And let yourself be like "Oh My God!" and let God laugh at your amazement and be like "Surprise!" :D
I don't have any friends anymore, I've never been good at making friends, hence why I've had the same 3 friends for 5 years, they went their separate ways (different schools and one moved overseas) I changed schools, haven't seen them for months and I've been at my new school for 4 months and I haven't made one friend, I'm sick of spending all my free time sat on my own on my phone, I hate how I have to eat lunch on my own (which I never do eat lunch because I'm too scared of sitting on my own and looking like a loner) I see everybody with their friends and I can't see myself ever having friends. I would like to go out on the weekends with friends but I don't have any. Everybody has established their friend groups and it would be an annoyance for me to just join them, I barely talk to anybody also - I have social anxiety which doesn't help. I'm seriously debating dropping out of school because I really can't deal with the loneliness, plus I'm not very academic. I don't think I can last another 2 years at school with no friends.
@0985 How old are you may I ask? When I was a teenager, there were always "cliques" of friends - the preps, the jocks, the stoners, the gothics, the valley girls, the pom girls, etc. It puts pressure on a kid to be part of a group so I know what you are talking about! But, I am older, did stupid things, made a lot of mistakes, and I realize that I shouldn't have cared so much about "being cool". School is more important. I am not trying to give you a lecture hun. Friends are fun, nice to talk to, party with, etc. But look towards your future too that's all. You are an awesome person with or without tons of friends.
@TransAm85
hi, i'm 22, the problem isn't that i don't have a group to hang around class breaks and etc, that is not what bothers me
what bothers me is that i rarely can make "real" friends, the type of friends you feel safe and comfortable to share your thoughts or message anytime to talk about random stuff... i used to try more to talk to ppl, make friends, but i ended up always being the first one to start a convo, and when no one would start a conversation, i'd end up giving up on trying, and now i guess im a bit afraid of trying again. and when i do try, i usually think i am annoying them, and even if i don't feel annoying, i feel that they will just answer those messages and "forget" about me again... i don't feel like i have close friends, it is hard for me to open up and i think that makes ppl think i don't want to be their friend. everyone talk about that friend that they can always count on, but i don't have that
@0985 You can find a close friend. Yea there are a lot of fake people out there, but you will meet someone that you really get along with and can never run out of things to talk about. My best friend left me when I was 23 b/c I moved in w/my grandparents and they lived on the urban side of town. She thought she was too good to go over there. She will talk to me sometimes on FB just to be nosy though. I'm 31 now and all my friends are my husbands friends. Having a close friend when you get older can be more challenging, but you can find one. I miss my friend sometimes too. Are you an introvert? My mom makes friends very easy b/c she is an extrovert. Sometimes I envy that. She can talk to anyone anywhere about anything! People like that! Maybe try something like that? Other than that, don't criticize yourself. You're still a great person.
@TransAm85 thank you so much for replying and helping :)
yea i'm super introvert... i have this friend paranoia since always, i can't open up easily but i rly wish i could, i'm trying to overcome the feeling of being annoying to everyone, and i think i push ppl away for being like that, but i do have some friends i think i can count on, i just don't feel comfortable enough around them yet.
and i'm finding it harder than when i was younger to make friends too, nowdays it feels like everyone is busy all the time and don't rly have the time to get to know someone, and it includes me too... i guess i got a bit jealous of my gf cause she went to study abroad and returned with a bunch of new friends, while i almost never left home to go out meet new ppl... and i feel that my friendships are too superficial too, i hate the end/beginning of the year cause everyone is going out to partys and getting messages of happy christmas/happy new year, but i never have those things...
i've living in this city i am rn for almost 3 years and i find it difficult to insert myself in some group of friends, cause everyone i meet already has a group and it makes it even harder for me to get past the small talk point...
@0985 Well if you keep downgrading yourself, thinking that you annoy everyone, of course that will push people away! Don't think that way about yourself. You just have to find a group of people with the same hobbies or interests as you. In my early 20's I was too careless - my interests were cars, partying, and boys. Don't be careless like me. You say you are in college right? Well I am pretty sure you will find a great group of friends to hang out with, but please don't be irresponsible like I was and become more interested in the partying than the school! lol Alcohol can quickly turn an introvert to an extrovert. lol Whatever your major interests/hobbies you have, you could start a convo w/someone in that area and you'd probably get along right away. Are you into the video game stuff? A lot of people meet through the online gaming I guess?
@0985
I'm sorry to hear that.... :( I think I know how you feel though, it's lonely and sad..I can't make friends either. I can chat on group chat but I guess I don't expect that people will befriend me or anything and that's why I can... on the outside in real life is much harder for me. you're not alone... :)
@helpfulSugar9 yea, in real life it is even harder... i don't open up easily and sometimes i get this paranoia that i have no one :/ but chat groups make me feel less lonely
@0985
me neither, I don't open up easily at all:( there's like only 1 person for me. Awwh, yeah that paranoia is tough to go against. But I'm glad the group support chats make you feel less alone. I am understand that. :)
It really scares me to drift away from friends. I guess I always feel like there's something that I did that made the friendship drift apart or something that they didn't like about me. Sometimes I just feel like I'm not interesting enough.
