how can I survive on my own?

My parents are getting really tired of me having fits about what to them is nothing. (On Saturday I had a fit about Dad for months been removing the ** comic section from the rest of the paper and I like finding the comics on Saturday myself and I haven't been able to do it for months and Mom thought I was having a fit over nothing). they're getting sick of dealing with me that Mom says that they'll be kicking me out of the house. But I can't really take care of myself because living in their *** home I'm 1)not allowed to renew my own *** prescription meds on the phone, 2)I can't cut one of my prescriptions meds into half which I'm required to do for one of my prescriptions, myself. (Mom does both 1&2) 3)I'm not allowed to be in a doctor's office on my own because I "might not understand"? Also I'm umemployed and I can't rent a place without having a job (need some kind of employment check) and yet I haven't had a job since 2010(?) not counting walking my sister's dogs and a neighbiour's dog for a little while.

@inventiveFarm5285 my sister has a full-time job and leaves on the other site (west) of Toronto. I don't really get along with her I'm trying to do better but it's hard since she has had 1)live in residence and has live beside residence outside of the family home, 2)has had boyfriends since she was in high school-so what if they broke up? 3)she has had jobs for years (ski related, tempory worked at Goodlife Fitness Gym, worked with horses, Green Hawks Esquarstian Sports, and now she works for Gordon Food Services) and I haven't had a "job" since 2010?

@Disneywoman

Would you consider the way your parents treat you as coddling, or abusive?

@BriskWalker70 Only when Dad yells at me for either 1)bringing a pumpkin home on MOM's orders (years ago) and 2)yelling at me for bringing (my) leftover cake home from my day-program's potluck (end of Nov). I do hate Dad being in the doctor's office w/ me because he used to not be able to keep his big mouth shut. When I tried to create some boundries- Mom said something about "hurting feelings".. and yet my feelings weren't hurt by: Dad critising our (Mom and my) 'going to be bed too late', harrasing me about my sleeping habits and insisitng I should mention it to the doctor/Res specalist, asking about my Isulin level, (and the first three were for my specalist's appointment) and one time for a family doctor's appointment (Mom and I keep having to switch family doctors)-our butts didn't even hit the seats before Dad HIMSELF told the doctor that I needed a prescriotion for coldsore meds and yet the entire trip down to the centre Dad asked me to remember to ask the doctor for one. This was AFTER my first meeting with the doctorand the night before my first meeting with the doctor- Mom asked Dad how would he like it if she went to HIS doctor and started talking about his health stuff from HER POV? Is it any wonder why I want Dad OUT of the exam room because of this behaviour?

He's a bit better now but Mom insists that for any question any of the three of us has, Dad needs to be in there to "write down" the resdient's or doctor's answer. I dont see why we can't just get a recording device (need to check the Ontario's accessbility laws about disabilitys and recording devices first) to record the doctor's answers.

I'm trying to get onto Ontario Development Services at the moment but 1)my school file needs to be found because of a pysch evulation from when I was 9. 2)Mom also wants to find one of the IEP we have for me to also sent to ODS.

@Disneywoman

Yes or Now? Is there something you just feel you cannot tell me about Dad's behaviour?

It seems to me Dad is this overprotective because he is worried about you telling somebody his secret. It might be some abuse for which your Mom is guilty of, by staying quiet about.

I'd like to help you because I have a good idea of how your future may become.

If you dont feel comfortable saying yes, I can connect you with an awesome listener so this can be more private.

If your answer is No, than can you tell me why you think Dad has become so controling?

@Disneywoman You will be surprised how much change can follow if you just tell them how you feel, without being scared that they will be ofended. If they ignore you, be persistent, don't give up. Parents always think that they do the best thing for you, even if they don't. Just talk to them - one time, two times, 10 times. Don't hide the truth from them :)

@Disneywoman So you just didn't find the right way to get their attention. Don't stop trying until you find it :)

Don't worry, it never happens from the first time. It's a long process, but there's no other way. Pills and therapies will all lead you to this moment, eventually.

@phannko They don't seem to care about how I';m worried about the future. How am I suppose to take care of myself wether I'm thrown out of the house or am able to leave with them until they can't take care of me? Most I can do is laundry and cook meals. I don't know how to change a bed. These are the same people who are worried about me wanting to date. I been wanting to date for years but its hard when I only hang out with a bunch of oldies. My parents don't want me getting hurt (heck I don't want to get hurt either but I know its part of the process). I tried looking up a millions ways for me to potentially find a mate and all of them are not open for me.

@phannko I had a case manager but she left for a job she been trying to get. So I'm waiting for another case manager. At the same time we're trying to see if my (former) high school still has my folder on file and Mom wants to look in our files to see about IEPs we have so I can try to get onto/into Ontario Development Services. So at the moment I have no specalist to talk too except for the leaders when I go into my day-program Monday&Thursdays.
